Profile

14th May - Recording another few Sunday Miscellany pieces this week for RTE Radio. Good to get back to the programme after the lapse of almost a year. Just been too busy with other writings and theatre and stuff.

Radio is perhaps my favourite medium, I've acted in a goodly number and have written for radio, a couple of my plays broadcast on RTE (Brenda Blethyn and Ciaran Hinds were in my first THINK WELL,O SINGER - the script was recently nominated for a Zebbie Award; another THREE OUR FATHERS was broadcast in April this year).

Meanwhile, I have several readings to do in schools of my children's book(THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LETTER IN THE WORLD)and other stories.

An experienced radio actor and narrator, as well as playing a variety of stage and screen characters(best-known perhaps as Tim Carney in Fair City, a man who treated his Russian wife Olga rather badly!), I am originally from Armagh in Northern Ireland, though I am 30 years in Dublin. I am particularly interested in narration and would love to lend my voice to anything in that area.

My father used to say I was named Karl after Karl Marx, but I could never figure out which one of the Marx brothers that was.
